Why We Built HearScribe
HearScribe wasn't created by software developers trying to understand healthcare. It was built by qualified audiologists who were frustrated with constantly choosing between giving patients their full attention and creating the detailed, professional documentation they deserved.
We didn't want to be faster at box-ticking. We wanted to eliminate the box-ticking entirely so we could focus on what we do best: being exceptional with patients.
Healthcare professionals shouldn't have to choose between being present with patients and creating exceptional documentation. HearScribe handles the documentation brilliantly so you can be brilliant with patients.

Our Philosophy: Excellence, Not Shortcuts
HearScribe isn't about helping you do the same work faster. It's about enabling you to do more and be better than you ever could while manually documenting.
The difference is fundamental:
- Not faster admin — but effective admin, freeing you to be exceptional
- Not saving time — but creating wow moments that patients tell their friends about
- Not efficiency — but competitive advantage through professional excellence
- Not productivity — but being the practitioner everyone wants to see
When you're fully present with patients — making eye contact, explaining clearly, building trust — HearScribe is simultaneously creating four types of exceptional documentation:
- Clinical notes that meet compliance standards
- Patient summaries that wow and inform
- GP letters that build professional reputation
- Administrative tasks so nothing is forgotten
Liverpool Hearing Centre: Our Testing Ground
We don't just build HearScribe — we use it every single day in our own practice. Liverpool Hearing Centre is where every feature is battle-tested before release.
Every feature in HearScribe has been used with real patients in real consultations at Liverpool Hearing Centre. If it doesn't work perfectly for us, it doesn't get released to you. We live the challenges you face because we're audiologists first, software developers second.
This means:
- Every feature solves a real problem we've personally experienced
- Nothing gets released until it works perfectly in clinical practice
- We understand your workflow because it's our workflow too
- We feel your pain points because we've lived them
Industry Experience: We've Seen It All
Paul and Iram have worked at virtually every major hearing care provider in the UK:
Where we've worked:
- Amplifon — International private hearing care
- Boots Hearing Care — High-street retail audiology
- Bloom Hearing — Independent specialist providers
- Hidden Hearing — Private audiology clinics
- NHS Audiology — Public healthcare sector (Iram)
- Liverpool Hearing Centre — Our own independent practice
This breadth of experience means we understand:
- Corporate clinic workflows and targets
- Independent practice challenges
- NHS documentation requirements
- High-volume retail environments
- Specialist clinical practice needs
We've experienced the documentation burden in every type of audiology setting. We know what works, what doesn't, and what hearing care professionals truly need to be exceptional. HearScribe is built on many years of combined real-world clinical experience.
Supporting the Profession
HearScribe is part of our broader commitment to elevating hearing healthcare in the UK. Through our parent company, The Hearing Lab Store Ltd, we actively support the professional community:
Free Professional Resources
- Professional Facebook Group — 3,400+ audiologists, nurses, and practitioners sharing knowledge
- Free Locum Service — Interactive map with 250+ registered professionals
- Jobs Board — Free career opportunities platform for the profession
- Digital Consent Forms — Free microsuction consent forms for patient use
- Tinnitus Assessment Forms — Free clinical forms to support consultations
Professional Training
We provide approved aural microsuction training to qualified healthcare professionals (nurses, audiologists, hearing care assistants, and GPs), with consistently excellent reviews from attendees.
We built these free resources because we believe in supporting the profession, not just selling to it. When hearing healthcare professionals succeed, patients get better care. That's what matters.
Zero Patient Data Storage: Clinical Values Drive Technical Decisions
As practicing audiologists, we understand the sacred trust patients place in us. This trust shaped our most important technical decision: zero patient data storage.
HearScribe stores ZERO patient information. No names, no consultations, no recordings, no transcripts, no clinical notes. Everything stays in your browser, under your control. This isn't just good privacy — it's automatic compliance with UK GDPR, US HIPAA, Australian Privacy Act, and Canadian PIPEDA.
What this means for you:
- Complete control: Patient data never leaves your device
- Automatic compliance: Global privacy regulations met by design
- Professional responsibility: You control the data, as it should be
- Patient trust: Easy to explain privacy to concerned patients
- No data breaches: Can't lose what we never had
Most healthcare SaaS platforms struggle with multi-jurisdiction compliance, complex data agreements, and constant breach risks. We eliminated all of this by simply never storing patient data in the first place.
Our Commitment to You
As practicing audiologists running our own hearing centre, we're committed to:
- Testing everything ourselves first — No feature gets released until we've used it successfully with real patients
- Understanding your challenges — Because we live them daily in our own practice
- Audiology-first development — Built by audiologists who speak your language fluently
- Clinical excellence — Enabling you to be exceptional, not just efficient
- Professional superiority — Helping you wow patients and impress colleagues
- Continuous improvement — Guided by real clinical use, not market trends
We built HearScribe to be the tool we wished existed when we were spending consultation time scribbling notes instead of being exceptional with patients. We use it every day in our practice. If it's good enough for our patients at Liverpool Hearing Centre, it's good enough for yours.
